A Life-Saving Gift That Changed Everything

On April 28, 2023 my life was forever changed after receiving a life-saving heart transplant. It was not a planned procedure and I was not even aware it had happened until waking up after 13 days in a medically-induced coma to find out that the heart beating in my body was a beautiful and generous gift from a selfless donor.

My name is Scott Bennett. I am many things including a father, son, husband and friend, but most importantly, I am also a blessed recipient of a life saving heart transplant. I am a lifelong resident of Dallas where my wife Leigh and I raised our two daughters, Sydney and Lindsey.

As a professional, I have had a successful career working for a variety of organizations in enterprise sales leadership and as an entrepreneur as a Co-founder of Skratch, a teen workforce mobile application. I am currently Insurance Advisor at Marsh McClennan Agencies and the Founder of this advocacy and coaching platform, Heart Of It Strategies. I have used my passion for entrepreneurship, leadership and relationship building to serve as a strategic consultant to multiple early-stage companies.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones. I love to play golf, cheer on the Texas Longhorns, see live music and movies. There are many philanthropic organizations that are near to my heart including Genesis Women’s Shelter, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Southwest Transplant Alliance.
